I thought i had dug my last trench after the fieldcamp during BMT.
Boy was i wrong.
Introducing
Exercise Earthworm, a 4d 3n exercise where we had to dig dig and dig our way to China... We had to dig our own shell scrape to fit our entire body length plus our fieldpack and also a two man fire trench.
It was devastating. The lowestest point in my entire life man. We couldn't sleep unless we finish digging, and by that, i meant we dug continuously from 10am on Tuesday till 1pm on Wednesday, a freaking total of 15 hours spent digging (minus the many turn outs we had and the accidentally dozing off in mid-dig incidents).
The absolutely most horrible time was around midnight, when we were the most shagged out. It was around that time when i discovered something that would hurl me and my other two digging mates into deeper depression.
I was digging away desperately when suddenly i hit metal! Hooray, i found an iron picket while standing knee deep into the soil! We were all damn grossed out that the person before us did something so fucked up. Over the next few hours, we found another iron picket and 2 shorter ones... Plus big big slabs of stones...
Urgh, i can't believe we got through all this shiet man... What with all the weapon stealing going on and the many turn outs to be punished at incredibly absurd timings because of it, i really really wanted to go home. I missed the simple act of brushing my teeth, of washing my face and of changing clothes.
I never wanna go through this again! I wanna stay sane!
