Let me tell you a story...
Long before your time, in the Southern province of China, there lived a girl, lets call her Wing, who was so ugly and fat that she had low self esteem and did not dare go out and meet people. Her only redeeming point was that her lips were as luscious as the present day Angelina Jolie's and they were moist and shiny like those immpossible-to-be-real models in Maybeline's lip-gloss adverts.
One day, she was bored and did not want to go home, so she did the never attempted before and went to meet a friend, Wong, she made through the carrier pigeon network (in her time, there wasn't the internet). So, Wing met Wong, not expecting anything much romantically because Wong was happily attached to another girl.
Or so she thought...
Well, they met up at the horse station (there wasn't any MRTs then either). As it was their first meeting, Wing was terribly quiet and shy (low self esteem mah), to the point that Wong was doing all the talking and was desperately trying to get her to show some signs of life. Suddenly, he started to sing her favourite song and she couldn't resist but to join in the song. Thus, Wing slowly thawed and Wong pierced her with a BBQ stick and... Oops, got too carried away...
Anyway, they got along fine and they scheduled another meeting by the Yellow River. Now, it so happened that they were sitting on the banks of the river singing when Wong suddenly looked into Wing's eyes and started touching her face, slowly caressing it. Magic struck them, something called Chemistry (although it was only invented a hundred years later) filled the air and they thus fell in love.
Now what about Wong's girl you might ask?
Well, it seemed that Wong was suffering under an abusive spouse and was thoroughly fed up with her and meeting Wing was the pushing factor for him to leave her. So he did.
And Wing and Wong lived happily together..........
NOT
They faced strong criticisms and angry backlash from family and friends who could not accept the fact that they were an item. Wong was so stressed that break-up was frequently a subject he would bring up, but Wing held on to hope, to love and to their relationship.
How will it end? Will it even end? We may never find out...
Disclaimer: Typical Qiong Yao story huh...
